đź’ˇLoom is a screen recording tool that allows you to easily record and share videos of your screen and webcam. It is particularly useful for creating video tutorials, recording software demos, and sharing presentations.
🔑 From experience Loom is, and screen monitoring solutions as a group are, an underrepresented and undervalued sales solution. As the options for usage are endless, we’ve noticed that upon introduction to the wider sales team, it gets the imagination going. Important side note is that, like with many tools, there is chance of time-wasting when playing around with Loom. Additionally when hearing and/or seeing yourself, there will always be paralysis through analysis. With Loom, you can record your screen and your webcam at the same time, which allows you to provide verbal explanations and demonstrations while also showing what's on your screen. It also allows you to draw and highlight on the screen while recording. Once recorded a session, Loom allows you to share your videos easily by generating a unique link that can be sent to others via email, social media, or chat. You can also make the video public or private and share with specific people. With that in mind, Loom can be used to unblock an opportunity or record a quick or custom demo. The latter being particularly interesting in those companies that don’t have all their “official” recordings to share. Because of it’s intuitive UX with instant video editing, Loom is a popular choice for the non-video tech savvy salespeople out there. In it’s free version, you can record 25 videos of up to 5 mins and the video editing is straightforward. To make the speaker’s life easier Loom offers a “filler word removal” option and speaking notes can be in a separate, moveable window that won’t be recorded. The end result can be supplemented with a video transcript. Loom’s paid pricing plans allow for more customisation (e.g. branding, video dimensions, embedded links), security (SSO, password protection), engagement insights and support.
